Maker’s Workshop (Knotted Bag Charm & Mala) VIRTUAL ~ Thursday, July 16 @ 8pm
Making Mala is a very soothing and calming practice, almost meditative. Historically, they were made to keep track of your mantras during prayer and to keep you grounded and set intentions. Of course, they can just be worn as a beautiful piece of jewelry.
Knotting Mala, though meditative, takes a long time and should not be rushed. For this reason it is difficult to run a full knotted Mala workshop. Gypsy and Grace believes that Mala should be accessible for everyone. For this reason, knotted Mala will be taught with a Bag Charm (only 9 knots) and you will also receive the the Mala kit to complete in your own time at a later date.
When you choose your colors we will make our best effort to come as close as we can to putting a kit together that meets your expectations. PLEASE CHOOSE THE COLORS BASED ON YOUR CHOICE FOR YOUR 108 BEAD MALA. You will receive something different for your keychain. If you have a very special request please email us and we will do the best we can. If you would like some lava beads in your kit so you can add essential oils to your Mala, please message us also.
Your kit includes materials necessary to complete your Knotted Mala. You will also need some strong adhesive, a piece of duct tape, and a pair of scissors. You will also need a big eye needle and a pair of fine tip tweezers or needle nose jewelry pliers. Most of these items can be found in our Bohemian Marketplace and can be added to your cart. You may choose to plan your bead pattern before you start stringing, but that is completely your choice. Organizer boards are also available in our Bohemian Marketplace.
If you are attending a live workshop, most of these items will be provided for you. Please check with your host.
If you are attending a virtual event you will be emailed the Zoom link or it will be posted in the Facebook event.
